Acoustics, Vibration

Acoustics is the area of metrology concerned with sound, its propagation and effects. Specific knowledge of acoustic quantities is necessary in health care and environmental protection, material testing, sound studio technology and acoustic irradiation as well as sound insulation and noise protection.

Vibration is the periodic change in the state of motion of an object. The quantities of motion such as oscillation, velocity or acceleration are important parameters that are applied in industry, civil engineering, seismology, and occupational safety and health.
