The recording of the dose of ionizing radiation and the determination of the activity of radioactive substances is necessary as well at the application of ionizing radiation in medicine as in radiation protection. Furthermore, dosimeters and activity measuring instruments are used in environmental protection and for safety purposes and in road traffic (e.g. hazardous materials).

At BEV the units of the following quantities are realized:

  • Activity
  • Air kerma
  • Absorbed dose to water
  • Dose equivalent
