Eight Control Point opened in Upper Austria 29.05.2024 - The municipality of Grein in the Mühlviertel region now also has its own control point for smartphones. The control point was opened on May 23rd at the Donaulände opposite the pier.

Mag. Rainer Barth, Mayor of the municipality, welcomed Dipl.-Ing. Wernher Hoffmann, President of the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV) and Dipl.-Ing. Rainer Schlögl, Head of the Surveying Office Amstetten, on May 23rd to officially open the control point at the Donaulände opposite the pier. Johann Barth from the Tourismusverein Grein and employees of the BEV were also present. One of the initiators of the realization of the control point is the long-time surveyor Georg Freinschlag from Grein.

The control point in Grein is the eighth control point in Upper Austria and the 27th in Austria, in addition to the control points in Steyr, Rohrbach, Linz, Freistadt, Ried im Innkreis, Kirchdorf am Inn and Bad Ischl, which have been set up since 2018.
