On June 5, 2024, the BEV received a visit from students of the English-language course "Geodesy and Geoinformation" at the Technical University of Munich as part of a four-day excursion tour through Central Europe (Slovak Republic, Czech Republic and Austria). Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Gold, head of the Division Geodesy, welcomed the holder of the Chair of Cartography and Visual Analytics, Professor Liqiu Meng, the organizer of the tour, Dr. Holger Kumke, and 45 students.

A compact, previously coordinated program was offered:
After a general introduction to the tasks of the BEV, in-depth insights were given into selected surveying topics. Following a lecture on the geoid and height measurement using satellite methods, the three cornerstones of geoinformation at the BEV - remote sensing data, the digital landscape model and cartographic models - were presented. Finally, the guests received information on the basics of the Austrian cadastre.

Later in the afternoon, the group of students, who were very actively involved in the program, were released in the direction of Bratislava, the next destination on their tour.
